The concrete structure of the reservoir expansion is conventional. Special considerations for this type of structure are limitations of crack width, leakage control at all joints and control of all materials to ensure that they are suitable for potable water. Additional considerations at this site were details to facilitate construction of the work without requiring shut-down of the existing facility.
