The existing lift bridge on the Dutch side of Simpson Bay, St. Maarten was extended to permit access for larger vessels. The work included design of the new piers, adjacent span, span extension, reinforcement of the lift span and alterations to the counterbalance system. The work was commenced in October of 2002 and was complete by January 2003.
